About Me

Carmen: I am the mother of a feisty two year old who was recently diagnosed with high-functioning autism and sensory processing disorder. The fiance of a very loving and dedicated family man. A full time student studying Human Development and Psychology with Washington State University, I am also a stay at home mom. I dedicate my time to finding resources and information about spectrum disorders, differently developing children and sensory processing issues. Special needs children are my passion and I am looking forward to facilitating and fostering friendships between families who need that extra support through our meetup group, Western Washington ASD/SPD Family Support Network. I decided to start this blog to share ideas and discoveries with other parents who are navigating the spectrum.
